New events on clubpenguin

Hello Penguins

Wow – There’s been a lot of buzz about the member event that starts on Thursday! We’re glad you’re excited about it! Dancing is such a fun part of Club Penguin already, and we wanted to use this party to take it a few steps further!

Get ready to break down some super cool moves because there’s going to be a lot of music and tons of room to dance–you can even get together with your friends and compete in the new Dance Contest Game! There are some cool things planned at the Night Club for the party, including three floors to explore and a chance to meet DJ Cadence! Check out this image–it’s just a bit of what you can expect on Thursday when the party starts.

dance.jpgRemember, the party starts on Thursday, Jan. 15 and goes until Sunday, Jan. 18!

We’re so excited to hear what you think!
Hello Penguins!

After yesterday’s Screenhog post, a lot of you wrote really awesome haikus as comments – and they were great to read. Today we get to say hello to some cool superheroes because Gamma Gal & Shadow Guy have returned to the Stage to save Club Penguin from Squidzoid!

stage2.jpgWe love to hear what kind of creative things you’re doing with the costumes and the script, so let us know!

Hi everyone! Screenhog here.

We like to hide little hidden references in Club Penguin all the time. Sometimes they are really obvious, like those two puffles at the top of the stage that are like those famous actors masks.

FacesBlog.jpgBut sometimes, there are hidden things. If you’re a ninja, you’ve been able to see this lantern in the catalog:

LanternBlog.jpgThe price of the lantern is 575. Do any of you know about the Japanese poems called haiku? The Sensei almost always speaks in haikus. The rule with a haiku is that it’s a three-line poem; the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables. In other words: 5-7-5.

Isn’t that cool? Or do we just have too much time on our hands sometimes?

Hello Penguins!

On Friday there will be an update to the Stage, and some superhero action will be returning! Get ready to welcome back Shadow Guy, Gamma Gal, and Squidzoid!

squidzoid.jpgLet us know what you think!

In other news: Thank you for all your feedback about the member event that’s coming up. There were a lot of comments, and you guys had some awesome guesses! I’ll try to get you more information soon.

Hello Penguins!

Many of you have been asking about a member party and wondering when there would be another one–it’s definitely been a while since the last one.

Well, we’ve been working on exactly that! The next member party will happen in the middle of January, from the 15-18th. But it’s more than just a party–wait till you see what else the team has planned! I’ll have more details next week, and I don’t want to say too much – but I can tell you that some of the items in the new Penguin Style catalog will come in very handy.

I managed to get a sneak peek from the team to show you. See if you can guess what the event might be about…

Let us know what you hope the New Year has in store for Club Penguin!

Greetings Penguins!

Lots of comments are coming in about how you love the new mission, and some of you have asked about the people who make the stories up. So I thought it would be fabulous to talk to someone who helps write the missions…

Who is your fave mission character and why?

Herbert. Because he reminds me a lot of myself.

herbCutout.jpgWhat’s the coolest thing about making up mission stories?
There’s no such thing as an idea that’s too crazy.

Perhaps most importantly, what’s your favorite kind of candy?
Anything with peanut butter in it.

Send along any ideas you have for missions! (And remember – they can’t be too crazy!)
Happy New Year!

Hello Penguins!

Mission 10 has finally arrived for all you Penguin Secret Agents, so we hope you’ll have fun helping to save Club Penguin… Herbert’s making trouble again! The team has worked really hard on it and we’d love to hear what you think.

In Other News: There are fireworks up today that will last until January 1st. We hope you enjoy them!

Hello Penguins!

Congratulations – You guys did an amazing job donating your virtual coins to Coins For Change! The Club Penguin Times has the official results, so check it out.

coins.jpgIn Other News: After Screenhog’s post, a lot of you told us how excited you are about the new mission coming on Monday. For those of you who are already agents, you can get prepared by playing some of the previous missions! If you aren’t a member of the PSA, you can become one if your penguin is 30 days old. Click on the M at the top right corner of your Club Penguin window, click the button that says “Become a Secret Agent”, and then take the quiz.

We’d love to know what your favorite mission of all time is – and why you like it the most.

Christmas Events & News

<!– –>

Hello Penguins!

Wow! For the second year in a row, Coins For Change has been a huge success, and you guys donated millions of coins! Tomorrow’s Club Penguin Times will have the final results for how  the $1 million  will be split between the charities – the whole team is proud of how generous Club Penguin penguins are. We hope you’re proud, too.

Christmas!en.jpgWe really want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah! Let us know how your Club Penguin Christmas is.

Hi everyone! Screenhog here.

There are some questions after Saturday’s blog post about the Treasure Book update. New Club Penguin toys will be available in the next couple of weeks – and those new toys have codes that will access the updated book. But if you have a toy from the first wave of toys (like the Santa, Elf, Rockhopper, Shadow Guy, etc.) your code will get you into the first Treasure Book. Sorry for any confusion!

We hope you’re enjoying the Christmas Party. The team put a lot of effort into decorating the rooms so hopefully you’re finding some fun surprises as you explore.

The new mission will be ready December 29th, and I don’t want to give anything away, but it’s pretty unique because the PSA will be depending on you more than ever. Here’s a sneak peek:

Judges will look for creativity and originality, so use your imagination as you decorate! Winners will be announced in the Jan 1st newspaper.

igloo2.jpgIn Other News: If you don’t have the pin that’s hidden right now, today is your last chance to find it. Try asking other penguins for help if you’re having trouble. A new pin will be hidden tomorrow! Do you have any tricks for finding pins? Let us know.

Hello Penguins! Happy77 here.

I’m so stoked to say hi. Some of you might remember me from way back at the beginning of Club Penguin. Since Billybob announced I’d be writing blogs I know some of you have asked about me. Among other stuff, I do some writing for Club Penguin, love to play Mancala, and I’ve been told I’m a bit curious…

Happy77.pngLots of you say you want to know behind the scenes stuff at Club Penguin. So, along with some game updates, I’ll sometimes be asking questions of the people around here. There’s a new mission coming up soon, and I found out that soon Screenhog will be giving you a great sneak peek. But since we’re all curious about missions, I talked to an artist who works on them:

What was your absolute favorite thing about working on the upcoming mission?
“All of it. Doing the storyboards are difficult, but the most fun.”

What’s your favorite candy?
“Hmmm. There’s this candy that’s kind of like ‘breath perfume’ that I like.”

I want to know all the stuff you’re curious about around Club Penguin, so please let me know! (And tell us if you have any fab ideas for new missions!)

Hello Penguins!

So many of you in the UK have been asking when the new Club Penguin toys will be available there. The team’s been working hard to make this happen, and we apologize that it’s taken so long. We’re so happy to finally be able to announce that the following toys will be available in a variety of UK locations very, very soon:

6″ Limited Penguins
2″ Mix ‘N Match Figures
4″ Pet Puffles
Igloo Playsets

Coins For Change!

Hello Penguins!

Coins For Change is finally here! Starting today in Club Penguin, there are booths set up around the island where you can donate your coins. When you click on a booth, you’ll be choosing which cause you’d like to support.

COINS.jpgDonation booths are set up at the Beach, in the Plaza, and on the Migrator. Remember – every little bit counts, so you don’t have to donate a lot to make a difference.

On December 25, we’ll announce how you’ve decided that the one million dollars will be split. Check out the Kids Helping Kids page on the website to see how your donations are changing the real world. Let us know any other ideas you have for making the world a better place for everyone!

Screenhog Blogs Card-Jitsu!

Hi everyone! Screenhog here.

So many of you are playing Card-Jitsu, but we haven’t shown any behind-the-scenes Card-Jitsu art yet, have we? Well, let’s fix that right now:

Firefighter.jpgThis is a rough sketch from the firefighter power card animation. Every piece of animation in the game had to have rough animations made first. Here are a few more rough sketches from other power card animations.

Have you seen any of these in the game yet? Any other fun ninja stuff you want to talk about? Send us a comment!

Cool Blog Announcement

Hello Penguins!

We hear from a lot of you that you love when Screenhog does his special posts – it’s a great idea and so we’ll be hearing from a couple different authors on the What’s New blog on a regular basis! I will still give updates on a regular basis too! These two penguins have been around Club Penguin for quite a while and they are very excited about talking to you more often.

I’ll let each author tell you more about themselves when they post, but here’s a brief introduction:

  • Screenhog – He has a lot of knowledge and is excited to share some behind the scenes stuff about game, mission and art development.
  • Happy77 – She’s kept a low profile for a while and she’s really excited to talk to you more regularly. She’s going to take us behind the scenes too, but in a different way than Screenhog. Happy77 is going to chat with different developers on the team. She’d love to hear ideas about people and projects you’d be interested in knowing more about!

Let us know what you think! We’d love to know any ideas you have to make the blog the best!
